In the 19th century, the water from the river Ega, as it passed through the town of Estella, was used to fill the ponds that then served as a source of power to operate the mills. Today, at the beginning of the 21st century, these formerly essential mills have either disappeared or have been converted for other uses. In this particular case, this former flour factory has been restored to all its magnificence, to become a four-star, state-of-the-art hotel, featuring a surprising use of the former grain storage warehouses to house octagonal-shaped guest rooms.
This complex comprises three different areas – the flour mill, the silos and the warehouse building. The first area houses the restaurant, coffee shop and duplex guest rooms, whilst further guest rooms are located in the second area, and the third area is a multi-purpose function room for big events.
A number of items are still conserved from the old flour mill, such as the wooden conduits through which the grain would flow, and machinery for milling, sifting, etc. This evocative industrial setting serves as the perfect backdrop to enhance the contemporary furniture of the restaurant and coffee shop.
This unique, exceptional hotel is located in the beautiful town of Estella, right on the Way of St James. This spectacular 19th century industrial complex has been restored as a hotel to offer 29 guest rooms which will be much appreciated by the most demanding tourists and those looking to discover new experiences.
The restaurant serves traditional cuisine, which takes its inspiration from the regional cuisine of Navarra. Menus with contemporary twists on classic dishes, where guests can enjoy excellent food and the fine wines of our region.
